Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, particularly those who care for formerly incarcerated patients.  

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:  

  • Describe disparities in use of HIV prevention among people with high exposure to HIV, particularly formerly incarcerated individuals. 
  • Evaluate benefits and tenets of practicing with cultural humility, particularly with formerly incarcerated individuals.   
  • Describe eligibility and contraindications for PrEP. 
  • Identify regimens that are suitable for rapid initiation of ART.
