Why It Matters

  • 1 in 54 Black women in the U.S. are diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime
  • HIV is fully preventable
  • It may be difficult to discuss sexual health and HIV. One way to introduce the topic is by include it in overall conversations about health and wellness and self-care
  • When people with HIV are on medication that controls their infection, they CANNOT spread HIV to others
  • With treatment, people with HIV can live long, healthy lives
