Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, particularly those in convenient and urgent care settings, who care for patients who could benefit from PrEP. 

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Describe racial/ethnic disparities and inequities in PrEP use and strategies to overcome them.
  • Implement screening for HIV among adolescents and young adults and evaluate eligibility for PrEP among these populations.
  • Identify and overcome barriers to prescribing PrEP for patients who are at risk and present to convenient/urgent care clinics.

This activity is designated for 0.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until September 14th, 2024. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
