Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians involved in the care of patients with HIV or at risk for HIV.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
  • Identify patients who should be screened for HIV at appropriate intervals.
  • Assess eligibility for PrEP among patients seen in your practice.
  • Assess factors associated with the aging population, such as social stigma and polypharmacy, that may complicate HIV treatment or warrant special considerations.
  • Evaluate data concerning safety and efficacy of switching virally suppressed patients to medications with lower risk of side effects or drug interactions or those with simpler dosing/administration requirements.
