Course Overview

As the population ages, the burden of eye care is increasing for the shrinking ophthalmologist workforce. Two innovations may help reduce that burden: 

  1. AI-enhanced retinal cameras allow for screening in primary care, potentially deferring the need for specialist care.  
  2. Newer anti-VEGF medications with longer treatment intervals may reduce frequency of office visits and improve adherence to treatment regimens.
